Whether it was with “Piddhu The Great” – a spoof on cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, or his funny take on the popular talk show “Rendezvous with Simi Garewal”, Cyrus Sahukar became a household name in the late 90’s, with his comic stints and anchoring after winning the MTV VJ hunt. He is widely regarded as one of the original VJs of India and became the youngest person to work for MTV in 1999.
When MTV forayed into the mockumentaries, he started anchoring the show ‘Kickass Mornings’, wherein he played 25 different characters. He then also hosted two seasons of the game show ‘Hole in the wall’, followed by ‘All stars’, both for Pogo Channel. In 2000, he hosted a show called
Cyrus has hosted a number of spoof shows for MTV, mainly ‘MTV Fully Faltoo’ ‘Piddhu the Great’ and ‘Semi Girebaal’ and has also acted in movies like ‘Rang De Basant’, ‘Aisha’ and ‘Delhi 6’. Cyrus also boasts of an illustrious theatre career.
Apart from hosting numerous corporate events, he has also hosted events like the ‘Musical summit for AIDS’, ‘Style Awards for MTV India’ & many more. He has also hosted the TV show Discovery School Super League with Mini Mathur. His comic wit and mimicry skills coupled with a resonating voice makes him the perfect anchor for events.
